Our Visit To St George d'Ibry Vineyard
This August we took a holiday in the south France, a good opportunity to sample some great wines from the region like the Minervois and some Faugeres to name a couple. While in the region we thought it would be a good idea to visit St George d’lbry, a small vineyard located in the Beziers area. The journey took us through two quaint villages Servian and Abeilhan.
Sante has been importing wine from Saint George for just over a year now with some great feedback from our customers, it is clear to understand why,on meeting Michel and Marianne, they are both full of passion and enthusiasm about their wine and their future wine. He was very keen to show us around his domaine and we were able to walk around the large cave where it all happens with red wine maturing in oak barrels, of course we ended in the wine tasting area, as one should!
I am still amazed with the quality of his Viognier, dry but so rich in fruit with a top quality finish. One of the best value for money wines you can buy.
L’Ame des Pins is another popular wine from this vineyard and I have ordered hand bottled and wax sealed magnums and double magnum to arrive in the next couple of months.
