Unusually at Château Laborde, it was the girls who inherited the vineyard through the generations until Jean-Marie, father of the current director Jean took over. He represents the fifteenth generation of winemakers in charge of Laborde. Jean and his wife Nathalie produce wines from several appellations: White Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur and Crémant de Bordeaux, and as with all Bordeaux wine, they improve with age.
The storage cellar dates back to the XVIIth century, and along with the family home, is built with stones from the quarries of St Emilion where each stone was carved into the rock by hand. Another 17 century building on the estate is available to rent.
